Christians , would you vote for an atheist presidential candidate?

I don’t vote for politics full stop! Politics is so stoopeed!

It turns out that the Shrub regime has been playing up the “god” angle to get the Religious Reich (Falwell, Robertson, Dobson, et al) to stump for them at the voting booth. In private, Rove and many others call the evangelicals “nuts” and “crazies”.

It seems christians would rather vote for a phony christian than an honest atheist. How else did Terry Nichols avoid the state murder – oops, death penalty – when the second illegal trial (violating double jeopardy) happened? He played the “god” card (“I’m sorry, I accept gawd into my heart”) and avoided the needle.

It there were one atheist that Americans would be willing to vote for as president and would probably be as competent enough for the job, it would be Bill Gates.

Christians today must remain neutral and not get involved with politics in any way, shape or form. We must not put our trust in human rulers.(Psalms 146:3)
If we vote for any imperfect human, then we are showing disloyalty to our King, who now reigns in heaven. Our allegiance is to our righteous King, and his Father’s heavenly government only. The Bible says that man was not meant to rule over man.
( Ecclesiastes 8:9 )
We must obey the laws of governments as long as they do not conflict with God’s laws. We maintain the same position as Jesus’ apostles: “But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)
Human governments will soon be put out of existance and will be replaced by God’s government which will rule over the entire earth. When you say the Lord’s prayer and ask for God’s Kingdom to come, that is what you are praying for.
The new government will last forever as seen at Daniel 2:44–”
“And in the days of these kings(current human rulers) the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”
Christians should not put their trust or confidence in political governments or rulers that God will soon overthrow. We need to look to God’s Kingdom as the only hope for all mankind.

YES!!!!!! I’ve been saying I want an Atheist president for about 5 yrs now. And I’m a Pagan. But I think an Atheist would, at the very least, attempt to make us a secular nation….. as it was meant to be.

Absolutely. Remember that even Pres. Bush said that the non-believers are OK. Keep in mind that atheists have been black-balled by the religion business. They never kill for god. You don;t see them flying airplanes into buildings. They don’t harass people who don’t share their beliefs or lack of them. Non believers live happy peaceful lives just like believers do. They’re not bad people as religion portrays them to be. In America we have religious freedom but that doesn’t apply to people who wish not to believe in a God whose existence still cannot be proven. Is that so outlandish? Why is that so difficult for religious people to understand? Because the religion business says that they are bad. What seems to be your problem?

NO! Besides we real Christians do not get involved and vote. We believe the government is evil and corrupt.

Christians would rather vote for a homosexual, black woman who had an abortion before they’d vote for an atheist.

pointless to even ask, none will even if the candidate will benefit them greatly

Not a fair question. No. Mainly because he wouldnt be supporting my beliefs, and that is what peoplle should look for in a president.

Of course, if I agreed with his/her policies.

Blessed Be
