Who did a better job as The Face of RAW, Triple H or John Cena? Why?

As a face of RAW:

Triple H = 2002-2005
John Cena = 2006-Present

I don’t hate both, so I want good explanation.

Alright, I know I’m in tough heading into this one because I’m going up against TP and I don’t agree with him, but I’ll give it a shot.

The way I see it, John Cena is the better face of RAW.
Now, I like both guys. It’s no secret that Cena is my favorite wrestler, but I’m a big Triple H fan as well. I think that as the face of RAW, both guys have done a great job of drawing money, be it ticket sales at live events or PPV buys, but I honestly believe that Cena is better.

For starters, the feuds that Cena puts on are much better than Triple H’s. You have to take into account what Cena does for his opponent as well as himself. Look at the guys he’s worked with: Edge, Randy Orton, JBL, The Big Show, Umaga, Shawn Michaels, The Great Khali and even Triple H. In every single one of those feuds, every one, Cena was the guy to carry the feud. Every time. And every feud was different from the last. Plus, and this is where Cena really scores high marks for me, he made each and every one of those guys look like superstars. With the wide variety of talent there, and some of them are very skilled and others aren’t, that’s impressive.

Now, obviously some of those were better than others, but look at the quality of Triple H’s work as the face of Smackdown, and a bit of his time on RAW, last year. I like Triple H, but it was horrible. His title reign, which lasted nine months, had zero suspense or drama. There was no doubt that he would retain up until the end, and his feuds with Edge, Randy Orton, Vladimir Kozlov and The Great Khali were awful. Think about that: How can a feud with Edge, regardless of who the other guy is, be terrible? To be fair, Triple H’s program with Jeff Hardy was very good. I enjoyed it a lot, but the proble was, and this is a recurring theme with Triple H, he was too dominant. Jeff never beat him or went one up on him. Even when he won the title, he pinned Edge to get it.

That is a problem Triple H has always had when he’s the main guy; the main event becomes about him, not the feud as a whole. Cena doesn’t have that problem. With Cena, you remember the fued and the twists and turns it had, whether it was with Umaga or Edge or even Khali, but with Triple H it often becomes about how dominant he can become. Take the Jeff Hardy feud for example. If Jeff had wound up winning that feud outright, which is where it seemed to be leading to, I would have thought of it as one of the greatest feuds of all time. The whole way, both guys were tremendous, but in the end…Triple H won. Again. It tarnished it. With Cena you don’t get that.

Now, both guys have done an admirable job, there’s no disputing that. Both have had to carry the company on their backs in the post-Attitude Era, post-Austin time. That’s a tall order for anyone, and they both handled it exceptionally well.

In the end though, it comes down to excitement. I don’t have a problem with long title reigns, but when Triple H has the WWE Championship, I find him bland. Yes, he’s great on the mic, probably better than Cena is, but with Cena all of his feuds are entertaining, no matter who he’s facing. That’s the difference. With Cena, the crowd is into it more, it’s much more back-and-forth, and the big-fight feel is there way more. Everyone has an opinion on Cena, and everyone loves to talk about him, whether they love or hate him. With Triple H you don’t always get that, but with John Cena, he delivers. Every time.

Well I guess HHH is the face of RAW but HHH has been drafted to SD and Cena is still on RAW. Also HHH has better mic skills than Cena but Cena connects with the crowd more. But I think DX and Cena are the face of RAW right now.

Triple H :
Funny, and sometimes tough on the mike; he has good mic skills.

In the ring, he’s good, very dominant, his sudden appearance in a match brings excitement. His weapon, the Sledgehammer also makes him ‘invincible’.

John Cena:
Sometimes funny, and good on the mic. Sometimes he is ridiculous on the mic, when he wants to make a statement, he will shout on the mic and blabber his way through.

In the ring, he’s good, although he is sometimes dramatic. (Sometimes when he gets punched, his reaction is very dramatic)
But he has a lot of good ring skills, moves like S.T.F.U, F.U are pretty good. He improved a lot, last time his moves were very predictable (it’s true), he will pull his opponent to the rope and bump him down, then he will F.U the person.

Overall: Cena is better with the fans, but i prefer Triple H.

John Cena and the reason why is because Cena sold more tickets and shirts than triple h ever will.Cena is the biggest thing in WWE today

john cena: good moves and is very good at pumping up the crowd.

HHH is a NORMAL face. he doesn’t beat every single person he is in the ring with…
UNLIKE cena.. he is a face or “superman” which means he beats EVERYONE up in the match… no one can stop him… no one can do anything!
